Only kidding but I have definitely lost weight and feel good. After consulting with Spider, I'm gonna come back on Monday but will run on Saturday. See you there?

Food has been weird this weekend due to dental work on Friday. I've been sleeping alot and my face hurts. Dentist said no working out until at least Tuesday. Have fun!

Back on the wagon

so took a little break from the diet while in vegas but still was much more mindful of what i ate/drank than i usually would have been while on vacation.
everyone was looking great this morning - noticeable changes.

l: salad with chicken, peppers, cucs, oil/vinegar
s: 8 cashews, apple
d: salmon, escarole, mustard greens

Stalled

I agree with Joan, I feel a little bit thinner, getting bored with the food and wondering why the scale needle isn't moving after losing 8lbs in the first couple of weeks.

I've started eating egg white omelets in the morning instead of one egg and one egg white, still trying to watch the nuts...anyone have any other advice on what I could change?

Had a glass of wine Saturday night completely forgetting this month's diet but it was good. Getting bored with my food... but am def feeling thinner.

How do you guys feel?

Day 13

B: black coffee, fruit smoothie, paleo pancakes
S: fresh green veggie juice, 10 cashews
L: prosciutto, swiss chard, zucchini, cherries
S: 2 oz nuts
Dinner: flounder, carrots, kale, and a tofu and fresh strawberry mixture I made for the kids. I know tofu isn't on the list but it's not exactly falling off the wagon :)

Totally been lazy about posting food in the last two days all good except for tonight...I had fries with my steak!
Oh well tomorrow is a new day :) and I did resist the incredible craving I've had for dark chocolate.

S - green juice, 1/2 of an almond hummus wrapped in collard green from the Stand (I'm addicted to these)

I do have to come clean that i'm on a modified paleo diet and haven't been posting my days before as i didn't think you'll find them useful. However, I have come to find your postings helpful for recipes or ordering ideas so will try to post mine as much as they are applicable ;)



Day 7

S - coconut chunks, dried berries
L - chicken salad, sliced pepper, olives
S - apple, more coconut chunks and dried berries
d - cod, tomatoes, green salad

snack: 1 oz cocnut chunks
lunch: grilled chicken, broccoli
dinner: salmon, cabbage slaw from everyday paleo (mo recommended this salad and it is GREAT - if anyone wants the recipe let me know)

Weekend was fine. One slip up two bites of homefries at brunch!

National Trail Day

Spent the morning forging new trails in Stamford at the beautiful Mianus River Park. It's a volunteer effort my firm sponsors so I decided to take my 12 year old. Enemies of state alright - donuts, muffins, bagels! Thank goodness I packed two hard boiled eggs and some nuts for breakfast and lots of water. I thought I was gonna lose it by the end - I was soooo hungry - but I dug deep, chewed gum and came home to a nice green salad. Whew. Gotta have food with you! Good luck this weekend Sophie, it's a challenge but it's working.

Friday
B - hard boiled egg,sweet potatoe (needs some ideas for breakfast)

Driving home snack - toasted seaweed sheets

Feel good a few days in, hard to believe we still have a ways to go :)

Day 4

Breakfast: black coffee, 1 egg, 1 egg white, zucchini
Lunch: Salad and chicken
Snack: green veggie juice and 20 cashews
Dinner: roasted chicken and guac and 20 cashews

Going to bed because I've been fighting a nut craving all day! Off to Boston for the weekend so a little stressed about eating Paleo while away from home. Just baked some Paleo pumpkin muffins for the road.

day 3

breakfast - 1 egg, 1 egg white, spinach, coffee, coconut water
lunch - grilled chicken breast, broccoli
snack - apple, 1 tspn cashew butter
dinner - paleo lasagna and kale salad from chef's table (highly recommend both!)

must admit i had a slight slip up yesterday at my son's preschool "graduation " - hadn't eaten since breakfast and didn't come prepared with a snack so ended up having a small piece of coffee cake. need to be better prepared next time!!!

Hardest day yet...felt like munching!

late snack baked kale and 5 five almonds
Dinner (9:30PM) homemade meatballs in tomato sauce

Dinner ideas needed

Hello to all and thank you for including me in this community effort!!!!
I'm finally able to post Sophie WITH my own "log in" - your efforts didn't go to waste ;)

Today was definitely my hardest day so far but I made!!!!

I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a take out dinner that would taste reasonably ok after being in the car for 4 hours. I'm leaving for my sons baseball games at 3:30pm and not back until 10:30.

B - coffee/2 eggs / 1/2 avacado
S - fruit
L - grilled chicken, salad, grapes
S - 10 almonds
D - salad, grilled chicken, spinach, carrots, tomato

Sophie - where are you getting coconut chunks? I'm hoping the new Wholefoods will have them.

Also in case anyone needs a recommendation for fish oil - Vital Nutrients - as recommended by Naturopath as high quality. I can send you the website.

2 eggs &1/3 c. egg whites w/ sauteed mushrooms
1 oz cashews
paleo lasagna from chef's table
1/2 banana
watermelon
alot of almonds :( so hungry today I couldn't help myself...at least they weren't chocolate covered :)
roast chicken and steamed broccoli

herbal tea

Mo's 2nd Day of Being Clean -

B - everyday paleo egg/tomato/bacon w/coffee (splash of organic 1/2 & 1/2) - need to look into coconut milk like Beth suggested
L - lettuce, chicken, salsa, gauc, balsamic
S - cashews
D - Arugula, mango, cucumber, grilled chicken, balsamic
1 Gallon water +

So far so good - Saturday will be hard for me w/out vino - boo!

Day 2

Felt kind of hungrier today....but felt good that I didn't give in to the nut craving!
Breakfast: black coffee, 2 eggs, kale, onion, fish oil
Snack: chicken and fresh veggie juice
Lunch: Salad, chicken salad, avocado
Snack: 10 almonds
Dinner: garlic shrimp, brocoli, carrot, 4 cherries

Having dinner earlier was a better idea (6:30 versus 8:30)

day 2

going to go ahead and put it all down so i don't eat anything else tonight!

breakfast - 2 eggs, spinach, 6 almonds, coffee
snack - turkey slices w/2 tbsp guac
lunch - salad w/grilled chicken, tomatoes, cucs, oil and vinegar
dinner - leftover fajitas with more guac; handful of blueberries

wasn't as hungry today, maybe because i drank a lot more water. but still really missing some dark chocolate.

Day 1

Breakfast: 2 eggs, onions, fish oil, black coffee
Lunch: fresh veggie juice, salad, chicken salad and avocado
Snack 1/2 ounce of coconut chunks
Dinner: arctic char, steamed brocoli, guacamole, 3 cherries, 3 almonds

Not snacking between 4-6PM was the toughest part for me and like Beth I need to focus on drinking more water!

Mo - Day 1 Food Journal

So good news is I made it through Day 1, and only 29 more to go :)

Breakfast - 2 cage free eggs, 10 cashews, 1/2 avocado, coffee
Lunch - Chef Salad no cheese, oil & vinegar
Snack - handful of almonds & piece of fruit
Dinner - grilled chicken, 1/2 sweet potato, broccoli, grilled pineapple
1 Gallon of water

Day 1

Hi All, Thanks for including me in your 30 day paleo challenge. I am leaving for vacation on June 19th so mine might be more like 20 days but here we go...
Food for May 31:
salad w/romaine lettuce, tomatoes, onion, grilled chicken, avocado, 1 egg, olive oil and vinegar
1 banana
3 eggs scrambled
cantelope
15-20 cashews
taco salad with tomatoes, lettuce, steak, chicken and guacamole
strawberries
apple and cinnamon tea

I miss my dark chocolate already!!! But for a sweet treat try celestial seasonings apple cinnamon spice herbal tea, it is really good and satisfies that need for something sweet. Limiting the nuts will be key for me as well. 2 oz. per day sounds like a good idea, I'm gonna try that tomorrow.

I was browsing on the internet about what to make for dinner and lunch for tomorrow, and I found this website www.fastpaleo.com. There are very interesting recipes and I will give it a try tonight. You should check it out!

Q: There are some recipes with coconut flour... Should I add coconut flour to the diet? I kind of feel that I will be cheating if I do it! lol!

Hi guys! I too am ready. Shorts were a little snug this weekend.

Sophie, you might want to add fish oil supplements to your daily intake. they are supposed to help with boosting the metabolism. I forgot mine this am but will take them tonite.

Exciting to see that everyone was pumped to start today!
Let's get some amazing results.
I've been thinking about what I can improve on from the first time I did this....I think limiting my nut munching is going to be my challenge. I'm thinking of setting aside 2 oz of nuts and locking the rest up for the day!

Anyone else have thoughts or tips to share on how to make this even more efficient?
